Restoring faith in me and God..

I don’t want to start this note with a negative tone but life is surely a struggle for me now. When I receive the call from this ‘Company X’, I was literally over the moon because working in this company is almost like a beautiful dream coming true right in front of my eyes. Nevertheless, all my family members were excited as well. But now after joining the company for more than one month down the road, I see myself struggling to perform at work. Everyday ends with a loud sigh as I walk through the exit door. I can’t recognize myself anymore and feel down all the time because I put almost everyone down. I hardly spend time with friends and family as I spent most of the time in office trying to learn as much as I could.

I came to a point that I don’t know how to do this anymore. Its like I’m really struggling to adapt in this place and constantly thought of running away from all my responsibilities. But I don’t want to do that because I really like this job,it’s just that I’m having a tough time of performing at job. As things really burdening, I tried talking to my Level 2 Manager and he was really kind at listening. He assures things are really hard in the beginning because it’s just been one month I’m here and its not fair expecting too much from my own self. He also added that all this mounting pressure was because I’m comparing myself too much with my senior colleagues at this job.

Whatever it is, I really want to settle down in this job as fast as I could because I really want to be good at this. Everyday after work I sit down and learn all the things that I did at office but it’s just that I’m not seeing myself progressing. Maybe I’m just putting myself in a very stressing situation.

Well,I really don’t know.I have been neglecting myself and God for the past few weeks. I have lost faith in me and God. This is not good at all,I know that for sure. I have to come back to myself and God or else I’ll be lost forever and might lose this job. I want to stay in this job because I really have an awesome team to work with.

Whenever I’m feeling down,I’ll come to this place and pour my heart out and you guys always have the right to say and lift me up…I know I cant be perfect but I just want to be good at this …

Please help..I need you guys now…

  2. T O S O M,

Relax. This is your first job. What you are going through shows your deep desire to excel in whatever you do. Do not let this pull you down as it takes time to settle down and know the ropes. I do not know what kind of job it is so I can not say anything more. However if you wish to you may let me know more about it and may be I can offer some help. My id is in my profile.

    Take care

  3. You know in every new job things take time. You need to allow yourself to learn at your pace, don't rush anything or you'll lose yourself.
Just from experience don't let the job drift you away from your life, your friend and your family. You love the job, you do the best you can, that's it, no more my dear. At the only day it's only a job.
Take your time and enjoy some rest. Everybody started one day and we know it's hard. Much love to you and know I am always there.

  4. Warning: My advice might be a bit different. I've always believed in calling work fun. If it's not, then it's not. (that doesn't mean you should quit).

Do what you love and love what you do.

But don't let it take over you. Your job doesn't define you as a person. I think people stress way too much when it comes to a job. If you play your cards right, you have no reason to be stressed about it. I don't believe in being a workaholic. And to attain the balance between work and your social life is hard, but not impossible.

Just see the glass half full, and not half empty.

    Hope this helps :)

  5. I would bet my everything on that manager that he is absolutely right. You are expecting too much out of yourself. It's just been one month. Even if I don't have any experience of a job, but what I do know is that no one can be expected to know or learn everything in one go. Things take time. You can do it. Just believe in yourself cause so many believe in you. Give it your best and just be hopeful. You already said you loved this new job. Since you did GET it, there's no one to stop you from keeping it. Things will begin to settle down as times passes. It happens that you are unable to see any progress. But when you get adapted (which will happen soon enough, just don't loose focus), you will notice a positive change in you and a good progress in your work. All your hard will definitely pay off

    Stay Blessed ^_^

  6. oh my goodness.
    keep strong dear sister.
find it, the faith. find it before you would really lose it.
    take care of yourself.
what doesnt kill you will make you strong :)

  7. I have just one suggestion, watch "Kung fu panda". Even if you already have, watch it again once. Listen to every sentence. You will find answers to most of your questions. :)

It is agitated as of now, allow it to settle. Don't worry about the results, just go to work, do your job, come home and relax. First 6 months are toughest in the work. Also, these are the months that shape your confidence and your career. So don't let your confidence down for NO reason. Yes, according to me, comparing yourself with others, wanting to master everything within 3 months are NOT worth reasons to ruin your confidence level. It's only a month.. Start again! Learn the basics. Stick to it. Understand what your work exactly does. Note down everything that you learn. Keep a track for next one month. And most importantly, NEVER EVER compare yourself with others. Go by your pace. Unless you don't start enjoying your work, everything you do is futile. And once you do start enjoying it, trust me, results don't matter. Give your 100% and rest will be taken care of. :) I can say all this because I went through the same phase while starting my career. Believe, my girl. You must believe :)

  8. When I entered my job, for the first month, and even now I feel that I am not making any progress. But then, when someone asks me and I answer to their doubts, I feel elated, that I know. Isn't that enough boost? Your time will come too, keep moving forward!

    Blasphemous Aesthete

  9. Hmm...change is the only constant thing in life and change is inevitable. some changes arent liked but u have to adapt. Take a deep breath and tell yourself its all good and work. Dont think about anyone else but u. and if you cannot cope up with this, start searching side by side for something which interests you.

  10. It's okay to feel as though you're not doing your best even when you are. And it's okay to take time to adjust to a new job. It's okay too to feel as though others know more more than you do.

Don't be too hard on yourself. The more you learn about your tasks and do them, the better you'll feel. Everything takes time.

  11. From all i seems u already have the solution...
and its ur consitent attitude of struggling despite all odds which m sure wl make all things right :)
u doing perfect.... just keep this light alive,n faiths gone keeps hovering ovr strong ppl lyk u:)
    soo...good luk :)

Unwrap a smile and leave some love!
