Life as we know it..

The operation went well. The lump was removed and now sent to lab for some testings. RJ recovered quickly and now enjoying his one week hospitalization leave. Everything was going smoothly on the first and second day until life played a joke on me.My father was admitted to the same hospital because of asthma. So I have to juggle between 12th Floor and 17th Floor to visit two men of my life. Both are equally important to me. RJ got discharge in the afternoon on the same day my father was admitted. Today my father got discharged and having rest at home. I am thankful that both of them are doing perfectly fine.

While spending days in hospital, I realized how important health is to us. Besides I also realized that not many people are fortunate enough to have a healthy body. Hospital can be the best place to study about life. The dreadful air somehow favors Death. I saw a young boy lying on one bed from my father's. Nurses were busy tending to him all day and his parents eyes reflect nothing but sorrow. I passed by the bed several time just to have a look at this innocent young boy. He seems very young and could be 11 or 12 years old. I'm not sure what kind of struggle that this boy is facing but I believe its a fight for life from the three words I overheard the doctor saying to his parents.

Radiation. Brain.Tumor.

They creates a story that make sense to the scene in front of my eyes.

I saw the mother resting her head on the pillar and tears are struggling to stay in her eyes. Her face was red from crying and her disheveled hair suggested she didn't have much rest. Her sorrow passed through the air and rested on my shoulder. I was feeling helpless and I cried when I saw her crying. How much sadness a human being can endure?

Sometimes you just never know how cruel life can be..

  2. I echo Red's comment. We just need to thank our stars everyday, for giving us a new day.

  3. Thank goodness they are both discharged now. Health scares have a way of putting everything in perspective don't they?

  4. It isn't until we witness things like this that we realize how much God has blessed us. Glad that both your men are out and safe :)

  5. Wow, when I was stuck in the hospital I bet similar things were happening around me.

But I was probably too knocked out by the pain meds to really notice.

Yoou have composed a very simple and heart touching post. Yes, life can be very cruel. Testing humans for everything and making them pay for everything...
I feel sorry for that kid. May he recovers.
