Facebook

Its been a while since I have logged in to my Facebook account. I received a call from my cousin asking whether I had blocked her from my profile. I told her that I've deactivated my account. Somehow I can hear the relief tone from her voice. She's happy to hear that I've deactivated my account rather than the news that I have blocked her.

I have many occasions where people who send friend request to me ended up removing me from their list. In those cases I was merely a victim :(.

My younger brother's girlfriend removed me from her friend's list after breaking up with him. Since then, I had stopped approving friend requests from his girlfriends.Yes he has a number of girl -friends and ex girlfriends. I certainly don't think I deserve this kind of treatment from anyone that I barely knows. Since then, they thought that I'm quite arrogant to not approve their friend requests. It seems to them that having their boyfriend's sister in  Facebook can help to strengthen their relationship.

There was once a girl removed me from her friends list because I am one of those who doesn't frequently 'Like' or 'Comment' on her post. You may ask how do I know? She posted that before she remove me from her profile. There were people who actually commented and liked the post so that they can remain as friends with her.

One day when I scroll down my news-feed, I have this sudden realization that I don't want to be  part of this crowd who are obsessed and seeking acknowledgment for everything that they posted in Facebook. Gone are the days pictures taken for memories. Nowadays pictures are taken just to let everyone know in Facebook on how perfect your life is..

I also believe that there are good users of Facebook who regard it as a mean of communication with their friends. I have no qualms about that but I certainly don't want anyone to judge me on how popular I am in Facebook.

  3. Like I said in on of my posts before Facebook is actually Fakebook. Where everyone is desperately trying to make others envy their life and lifestyle. I shall never delete my account, because I like socializing with people and I have my beloved blogger friends there. I like it for my own things and I don't give a damn about people removing me for reasons best known to them.

If the pic or the post deserved a like I would have done it long ago. Enough said.

  4. you know, the only good thing about facebook is that you can communicate, overseas. my grandpa, who is currently in usa, was the first to wish me. that too on fb. that, is the only good thing about it.

ps: acquaintances and friends, are two different species. just because you know people doesn't mean they should end up on your facebook. so i think.

    ciao.
