About Japan and the Snow

Its been a while since I have written something here. I'm quite nervous to say the least. How to start this blog post? Should I write about the one week that I spent travelling all over Japan. Yes with an unlimited Japan Railway Pass I roamed the whole Japan for almost a week.

As soon as I reached Kansai International Airport, the cold chilling air embraced me and I had the doubt of my life whether I will be sent as frozen meat on my return flight ticket. My hotel was in Osaka and from there I went to Tokyo to catch the snow, Hiroshima to witness the aftermath building of World  War II and I took pictures with wilted flowers in Wisteria Flower Tunnel (Of course how stupid is that to go to a flower garden during winter). I built a mini snowman and tasted snow while walking in heavy snow and not to mention I fell down because of the slippery icy road walk.It was an enriching experience travelling across Japan, a non English speaking country that strives amidst their adversity into one of the most successful country in the world. To be honest, it wasn't a luxury fueled trip. Unfortunately the food there didn't satisfy my hunger and I'm just too cold for someone experiencing  winter and harsh snow storm for the first time.

I don't think I can forget the hours of journey in the bullet train while sitting on the window seat watching the scenery changing its face. I want  to write more about snow but I'm struggling to find the right words to describe it because a week is certainly not enough alone to marvel at the beauty of snow. The coldest temperature that I experienced was 2 degree Celsius and thanks to the multiple layers of clothing and gloves, I survived. There was once we took the wrong train and ended up missing our last train to hotel. We ended up stopping at Bentecho and walked almost 3 km to Awaza in the cold temperature with drizzling rain at 12:30am!

It was surely a mind blowing experience and not to mention I went there without my mother's approval and with half nodded approval from my father. After I reached home, the next day I went to work. While on the way to my cube I grabbed the morning paper and guess what was the headline? 19 people dead in Tokyo because of the severe snow storm. I was relieved to be home safely ( because somehow I need to prove my mother 's premonition wrong)  but I was more tempted to shout on the roof top and tell the world that I WAS THERE DUDES. Of course I didn't and the day went on as another mundane filled Monday.
